I had this beer over two months ago, and the pictures are actually from then, but never got around to blogging about it. This week I started recording a hard copy of my beer tastings and I realized I didn't remember what I thought about Bear Republic's Red Rocket Ale. Somewhat saddened, I made a mental not to re-try it as soon as possible. Lucky for me, a guacamole craving led me to Sunset Cantina and their ridiculously awesome beer selection.
I stuck with my new, if not always followed, approach of drinking two of the beers in a row to really form an opinion. I really like Red Rocket. It's very bitter and hoppy, as evidenced by its 65+ IBU, but enjoyable all the same. The color is super dark and has a quite pretty opaque/red thing going on. The bitterness means tt's not for everyone, but Beer Advocate agrees with me that it's an overall good beer and sometimes you can't hope for much more than that.
Enjoy!
